What readers are saying…

“I loved this sweet story about Hana’s Hundreds of Hijabs and the creative character Hana. The character Hana is endearing and oozes with creativity. She finds a perfect solution to channel her creativity. Readers will enjoy Hana’s solution to her many hijab styles and will pore over the lush and colorful pictures. As a hijab wearing person, it is so refreshing to see hijab portrayed with such joy in a picture book. The backmatter was inviting and I felt like I got to know the author and illustrator more. I can’t wait for more books from this talented author Razena Omar Gutta and from Manal Mirza (I loved her work in Zahra’s Blessing!)

Now only if I had a real Hana in my life as a Creativity Consultant to fix my haphazard hijab :)“

“I absolutely loved this sweet and funny picture book by Razeena. Hana has hundreds of hijabs and her creativity shines throughout her hijab-styling. But sometimes it gets too distracting, so will she find a way to still use her creativity? Such a lovely book, and the illustrations are so colorful and vibrant. I loved the backmatter; it’s so unique with Q&A’s with the author and illustrator.

“Oh what a joy this book is! Hana reminds of Nancy of the Fancy Nancy series with her flair for fancy, and creative problem solving skills.
Hana has a problem with her hijab. But it’s not the “Oh woe is me I am forced to wear a hijab” type of problem. It is a problem of having just too many awesome hijabs and not knowing what to do with them. Thankfully she finds a hijab-tastic solution that not only benefits her, but her whole community.
The text is fun to read outloud, with just the right amount of fancy words sprinkled throughout. And the illustrations just POP out of the page. The beads, the colours, the headbands, the styles! Every time I flicked through the book I found a new detail that made me smile and reminded me why I love my hijab so much too.”
